COVID-19 Policy

We are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children, employees, visitors while adhering to current AHS COVID-19 requirements and recommendations. The following are the COVID-19 requirements that we have implemented to keep everyone safe and healthy

  • Parents are asked to wait for the Director or Educator in the main entry to the centre for drop off and pick up of their children.  Parents will be greeted, exchange any pertinent information and the children will then be escorted to their playrooms by the Educator

  • Parents are permitted in the centre during the initial tour and for scheduled visits and are required to mask 

  • Visitors are permitted in the centre during scheduled visits and are required to mask

  • Each playroom is considered it’s own cohort and will not be mixed with other cohorts during both indoor and outdoor play

  • Employees, children and parents are asked to use the following guidelines when experiencing symptoms of COVID-19

Adults 18 years and over that experience any of the following core symptoms are required to isolate 

  • Cough

  • Fever

  • Shortness of breath

  • Runny nose

  • Sore throat

  • Loss of taste or smell

If fully vaccinated with 2 doses, the isolation period is 5 days from the onset of symptoms or until symptoms resolve, whichever is longer.

If unvaccinated, the isolation period is 10 days from the onset of symptoms or until symptoms resolve, whichever is longer.

Children under the age of 18 years that experience any of the following core symptoms

  • Cough

  • Fever

  • Shortness of breath

  • Loss of sense or taste or smell

If only 1 symptom is present, the child must remain at home for 24 hours.  

If other symptoms develop during the 24 hour period, including those listed below, the child must remain at home until symptoms resolve

  • Stuffy nose

  • Painful swallowing

  • Chills

  • Headache

  • Muscle or joint aches

  • Feeling unwell or fatigue

  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or unexplained loss of appetite

  • Conjunctivitus, also known as pink eye

Children and adults experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 are recommended to get tested if symptoms do not resolve.
